I noticed a lump on my daughters back the other evening as she was getting ready for bed and she said it hurt when I pressed it (like a needle pricking her she said). It's under the skin, a hard lump and slightly purple in colour. I took her to the doctor the next day who mentioned a couple of long names he thought it could be (can't remember the exact names!) and said to take a photo with a ruler underneath and come back in 6 weeks for another check. He said he didn't think it was anything to worry about but of course I am worrying as I've been googling and inevitably getting worried about what it could be. Has anyone seen anything like this before on their child?

Dd1 had one of those on her cheek, or similar. The doctor said something about a fatty lump and nothing to worry about. I noticed the other day it wasn't there any more. So it disappeared sometime between about age 6yo and 17yo, but not sure when. Grin
It didn't grow in size and was certainly there for over a year, but don't know when it went.
