DSs bellybutton has just popped out

He’s 7 and been coughing all week, he’s now hysterical cos his bellybutton is now protruding and it hurts and he thinks it’s goinf to drop off.
DH has just taken him to the out of hours doctor after a phone call.
While I sit here and fret wait, any ideas what it could be?
He’s been complaining all day his tummy is hurting and his pop has been dark green

As above... sounds like an umbilical hernia. My brother had one at about 7 (then 2 years later I had one in my groin!)

How is your DS Brie?

Doctor said small umbilical hernia, said to keep an eye on it for a week, if not any better by then to go back. Doctor tried to push it back in to no avail.
DS has come back from school and has pushed it back in himself and seems fine so will keep an eye on it but hopefully fine now.
