Hard stools 14 month old

I've cut dairy and limited refined carbohydrates.
She has bran flakes for breakfast, lots of sweet potato, peas and fish.
Dr says she's not constipated because she is pooing but gets hard stool and becomes very upset passing them.
Only other option is possibly upping fluids by giving diluted milk in the morning, currently I only give one bottle at night and cups during the day.
Anyone have any tips? Thanks

Are you giving lots of fruit? That usually helps

And Ella’s prune pouches usually work a treat!

I'd up liquids and fruit, particularly prunes, apricot and similar. Bran flakes might be too much fibre, I would swap that for a less fibre based cereal, or give porridge.

Yes less bran flakes - weetabix or porridge only at their age

Thanks, all.
I've tried porridge with water and raisins this morning and she downed an 8oz bottle of diluted milk (3oz milk 5oz water) so it may be that she's not been getting enough fluid in the morning.
I have used Ella's prune pouches and they did work but have run out. I'll bulk buy some more.
Hopeful for soft poos today!
