1 year old concussion?

My 3 year old just accidentally hit my 14 month old with his toy guitar fairly hard in the temple.

Younger one cried, then projectile vomited.

Think it’s sign of concussion? He seems fine now, but quiet but still a worry nonetheless.

Advice anyone please?

The guidelines for paediatric head injuries state that more than 1 vomit is a cause for concern. Keep an eye on the younger one but at the moment he would be discharged home from a hospital

I thought as much. Thank you for the advice!

My daughter vomited after a head injury at 9 months and I took her to A&E. They told me multiple episodes was the concern as usually a one off vomit can just be a result of (presumably) lots of years and upset after the injury. I would keep an eye and possibly take him in. Has the area bruised at all?

Thank you for your replies. I spoke to my cousin who is a nurse and she reiterated what MyPrince and Unihorn wrote above which is to worry if he vomits more than once. She used the example of how some people can vomit on a rollercoaster when their head is knocked side to side.

No bruise that I can feel, although he may have a bit of a black eye in the morning.
