Enlarged tonsils in 5 year old

My dd seems to get a cough every winter. Dr said could be asthma like (prob cold induced but doesn’t struggle for breath per se). She’s had enlarged tonsils for years. Right now says she has a sore throat. Her tonsils are big but not red. They seem to have a few clear blisters but again not red. I am concerned she gets sleep apnoea ( I do). Does she need to be checked?

It's best to wait until she is completely better and then have another look.
Many children have large tonsils and as they get older they catch less bugs and their tonsils are less prominent.
It is true that large tonsils can cause sleep apnoea and if this is the case DC can have them removed which will be curative. There is no need to have surgery prophylacticalky as she probably won't get to that point.
Just keep an eye on her and see how it goes.
