Strange rash that comes and goes

My son has had this weird rash that comes and goes on different parts of him. It's red with a white blister in the middle and sometimes they're quite big and sometimes they're quite small. Sometimes there's a few small ones together, sometimes just one on it's own. He's had them on his face, neck, back, arms, legs...everywhere! Has anyone experienced this before? The pictures aren't very clear. He's also had a cold for the last week or so, the rash has been coming and going for the last four or five days. Thank you!

Look like bites to me? Bed bugs?

Whitelisbon · 22/11/2017 19:21

Are they itchy? They look a bit like hives. Could just be a side effect of the cold, some kids are a bit like that. If they're bothering him, you could give him piriton to ease them, as long as he's over 1 (he looks it but it's hard to tell!)

They're not itchy, they don't seem to bother him at all, would rule out but bites I think?

I would guess so. Very odd!

Missmiller · 25/11/2017 08:10

I would say hives. I get them in response to going from heated building to cold weather. They come for an hour or so then just go away. They itch lots but if I itch, they get worse!

Urticaria? I had an episode that lasted about 9months. Skin would look like this if I had a hot bath or shower or got too hot in bed. I could feel them come on, my skin would sort of prickle but not particularly itch! It would last until I’d cooled down. Then all of a sudden it just never happened again.

Dermatitis herpetiformis ?

It’s the derm symptom of coeliac disease www.coeliac.org.uk/coeliac-disease/about-coeliac-disease-and-dermatitis-herpetiformis/dermatitis-herpetiformis/

ZigZagandDustin · 25/11/2017 08:20

I'd also say bed bugs.

SaneAsABoxOfFrogs · 25/11/2017 08:24

They look like the hives my son gets. He is allergic to dairy, eggs and nuts and his whole body gets covered in them if he eats anything containing those ingredients, but he'll also randomly get one or two for no apparent reason, especially after having a bath.

Spam88 · 25/11/2017 08:25

I do t think they look anything like bedbug bites.

Look like hives to me, I get this with random ones just popping up every now and again. Mine are insanely itchy though.

Ds gets those when he's under the weather sometimes. Definitely not bed bug bites. Doctor thought it was just random hives.
