Hand foot and mouth

Hi, so my 15-month dd has hand foot and mouth. She has an angry red rash everywhere apart from her torso really. On top of a cold that she has had for three weeks! The doctor won't see her (although will if I really want to) as its just a virus and there's nothing they can do. So, can anyone recommend anything I can either put in her bath or put on the rash that might hurry it up in going away or does the rash last as long as she has HFM? I'm putting a couple of drops of lavendar oil in her bath but not putting anything on the rash (like a cream or oil). I'm using Metanium on her shocking nappy rash which is yet to take effect. Is there anything else I can do? Thank you! Smile

I saw the doctor when my 9 month old twins had it. There’s is nothing they can do. She just said calpol/nurofen for the fever and discomfort, lots of fluids and offer food as normal. In my twins case their skin had got quite dry with the rash so she said we could put e45 on it and we avoided bath products. Metanium alternated with Bepanthen for nappy rash. The rash actually lasted longer than the spots in our case.

Hope your little one feels better soon.
