Teeth falling out!

At what age do kids start losing their first teeth? The Boy was chewing on a wooden spoon and complained of a wobbly front lower tooth. Within a day it had fallen out and we went through the whole tooth fairy rigmarole. He turned 5 in September. Was it the spoon, Mother Nature, or a combo of both?

I would say both. Many children start around 5yo, as far as I know.

One DC was 7 and the other 5 when they lost their first tooth! Anything goes between those ages I think

Dd is 5, will turn 6 next month and already has her top and bottom front adult teeth.

Dd2 was 5 to six.
Dd1 was 8!

All very reassuring. Thank you! Smile

There were quite a few tooth fairy visits to my children’s classmates when they were in reception, so I’d say 5 is not unusual at all.
Most were closer to 6 - some later still. DD is almost 8 and has only lost her two front bottom teeth; most of her friends have lost about 8 teeth now and have all their big teeth in the front.

DD had her first tooth at 4 months so was quite an early teether, yet some of her friends who lost their teeth first were 10+ months old before they got any teeth.
