Photo included - tonsillitis?

Dd has been complaining of a sore throat, sort of underneath the left gland. I took a look at her throat and it looks like tonsillitis. (I think?) she’s quite happy, no temperature, still lots of energy but having calpol for the pain. Should I take her to the gp or see how it goes?

I can only speak from experience of tonsillitis in myself and DCs. It doesn't look like bacterial tonsillitis to me albeit her throat does look sore. You can see white spots on the tonsils with tonsillitis. You would also expect a temperature.

IME tonsillitis feels like swallowing razor blades so eating and even normal swallowing is really hard. You tend to feel very poorly.

I personally would hold off the GP if there are no other symptoms and calpol is controlling her pain.

Thanks for your reply, i think I will hold off from contacting the doctor just yet!

I agree with PP.
my DD1 has had recurring tonsillitis and you can see white spots all over the tonsils very clearly, with a very high temp. I would hold off with doctor if it doesn't go in a few days, or it gets worse.
