Hi,

Does your asthmatic dd/ds have the flu jab if so is it the nasal spray? My son (4) was diagnosed as asthmatic very recently and I'm now pondering whether I should give him the vac and whether it should be injected or nasal spray? Many thanks in advance

DS has the nasal one - hope that helps!

Nasal one; dd1 had hers through GP surgery.

My daughter has the nasel one every year without fail

Yes both mine are asthmatic and both have had the nasal spray. Ds had to have the injection last year as he was on steroids to help with his breathing.

DS 7 has asthma, has had the nasal spray since he was 3. They should have two doses for the first time.

I would have preferred he have the injection but there is no choice. We have no clinics locally where I could pay to have a private injection for a child and the NHS will only give the nasal spray. He does seem to get a miles reaction to it every year so it's better he has it then risk getting full blown flu.

Ds 3 was diagnosed with asthma last month and also had the flu nasal spray for the first time.

My 3 year old is under Consultant care for asthma and she’s said not to have the nasal spray as one of the side effects can be wheezing in susceptible children. So our GP gave her the flu jab.

I managed to find a pharmacy who would give my 8 year old the injection. The NHS will only give him the nasal spray. He had the nasal spray last year.
