My DS (4) has always had large tonsils. He's had numerous bouts of tonsillitis since birth but never enough to meet the guidelines to remove. He started school a few weeks ago & now has swollen tonsils. He currently grunts every 30 seconds to clear his throats which is bad enough but for the past week he can no longer swallow solid food (chewed) & spits it out where ever he can.
Obviously this is not great at a new school with new friends.
The doctor said taking tonsils out is a major operation & some children end up in intensive care which scares me but I believe he really needs them out. How do I push to doctor to agree with me. She wouldn't even give antibiotics because they don't work for tonsillitis?? Thanks x
