My 17mo DD has come down with hand, foot and mouth, and seems to be really distressed and unsettled with it (much more so than I remember my other DC being when they had it as babies). She refused nearly all food today, and now I'm having a terrible time trying to get her to sleep. She's had as much Calpol and Nurofen as she can for now, but she's crying and writhing about and won't settle.
Anyone found anything to help with the discomfort in their mouths? She refused ice cream earlier, and she's too young to suck an ice cube. I feel so sorry for her. Any tips for soothing remedies?
