Altitude trouble

Hi my daughter eats well, sleeps well, gets loads of exercise. She's a sporty healthy girl. Problem is when we go up into high hills she just can't cope. She can't keep up she cries and seemingly completely overreacts but it happens every time so I think there may actually be something going on. Any ideas?

How old is she? Could you try more breaks en route, trip to doctors?

She's 9 and has had it at least a year. We do give her reasonable breaks her younger sibling who hates walking copes just fine

How high are the "high hills"?

Are you in the UK? Altitude sickness usually only happens above 3000m and the highest point in the UK isn't that high (think it's Ben Nevis, about 1500m???)
