DS ingrowing toenail and granuloma

Ouch! My DS Aged 9 had an ingrowing toenail, 2 courses of Antibiotics didn't clear the infection. Now he has this granuloma, a growth of flesh and nerves. He can't do PE or playtime, shoes are painful, but it's going to take weeks to heal.
Has anyone else had this?

Ouch, that looks so painful.

An appoint, ent with a podiatrist would be my recommendations. We did this when ds1 had an ingrowing toenail and they fixed it without need for surgery. Cost about £50.

I had an ingrowing toenail that looked similar to your sons years ago and it took forever to get treatment on the NHS. If I'd realised at the time podiatrists can deal with it, I would have gone for it.

My son had this
Dr said weeks for a podiatry appt.so we went to a private podiatrist
Cost £220 for a toe nail wedge resection
Needs regular salt bathing and dressing but hopefully he will be discharged tomorrow.....
