Circumcision aftercare

My son aged 10 has just been circumcised for medical reasons. He had a very tight foreskin and regular infections as he couldn't pull it back to clean properly. He is feeling very sorry for himself with a very swollen and sore penis. My question is..... is there an easy, kind way to put the Lidocaine cream on that won't make him hate me? Has anyone found any hints or tips? Very much appreciated. Thanks in advance

My 6 year old was circumcised 4 days ago for the same reasons, non retractable foreskin and repeated infections. He is still extremely sore, I was wondering when this might ease up? Have you got any advice?

Can you get enough of the cream in a clean pot and dip it on?

Can I ask about the circumcision? My son can’t pull his foreskin back as it’s very tight. He’s just turned 6.

I was thinking some sort of dipping method as well. I’m not sure what kind of recepticle would do it though that would be kind enough though.

Or smear some cling film with the cream, wrap and pull off gently. He could probably do that himself.

Hi, it’s now almost 3 months post circumcision. The pain subsided after about 5 days. Unfortunately my sons got infected and ended up taking a lot longer to heal. He still has some swelling. My advice would definitely be to make sure he soaks it well in the bath. My son was scared to put it in the water so it didn’t get fully soaked, just sort of dipped. I think if he had soaked it he wouldn’t have got the infection. As for the cream application, we just persevered.
