Baby's fontanelle sunk after 8 week immunisations

Hi I was wondering if anyone could help.

My 9 week old DS had his immunisations yesterday and for the second evening running his fontanelle has sunken in slightly more than usual.

I read that it's a sign of dehydration but he's been producing odourless wet nappies and has been breastfeeding normally. He seems fine in himself, whereas as expected yesterday he was out of sorts. So I'm not sure if it's just normal?

Not sure if relevant but he's 6 weeks premature so should be 4 weeks old tomorrow...

Call 111 and ask them for some advice (NHS 24, not sure if the number outside Scotland is different). It can be a sign of dehydration or being poorly so it's worth getting checked.

Thank you for replying. I rang 111 and they booked us an appointment in urgent care. Doctor checked him over and he is fine. Very silly mummy!!

You did the right thing getting him checked out and glad that all is ok with your little one Flowers

Not silly at all OP, I'm very glad he's ok, but you did totally the right thing getting him checked. It's scary when they're tiny and the fontanelle sinks, I didn't say so yesterday but DS1s did it and it was a sign of severe dehydration and sepsis so I was always hyper aware of DD and DS2s fontanelles changing.
When it comes to teeny tinies there is no "silly" when it's quick changes to health, it's always worth getting checked.

Not silly mummy.

Silly is when your baby needs help, but you don't get them checked, just in case you feel silly.
Any questions with small baby, get checked. They can go downhill so quickly.
