Hi there

My son is six days old and has hard whitefish stool? He always wets his nappy and eats well and seems generally happy.

Just wondering if this is something to call triage about urgently or can I wait till the morning to call a midwife - any ideas ?

Thanks

White-ish or actually white?

White ish is OK, if he's well in himself. Actually solid white could be problematic and I would be ringing the ward about now given he's so tiny

I think it could be a sign of jaundice (could be wrong, not a doctor!) bur I'd definitely give them a ring tonight. It's what they're there for Smileand it's better to be over cautious when they're so tiny!

Hope your son is ok
