Is this something to be concerned about?

My DD is 12. She started feeling poorly in the night. High temp and sore throats but the weird symptom is that she can't feel her lips or nose. We had to travel back from our holiday today and had to stop the car for her to be sick. She had said that she could feel her lips again but now they are back to being numb. She has had ibuprofen and paracetamol but can't warm up despite being hot to the touch. I am not worried about the other symptoms (she had horrendous tonsillitis a few weeks ago and was worse than this) just the odd numbness. Does anyone have any insight?

Odd. Any chance of an allergic reaction to something she's eaten?

Not that we know of. She was in the sea yesterday so it could have been something in there? She says they are no longer numb but her tongue feels like it is swollen!
