Ranitidine for 2 year old

My doctor has prescribed ranitidine for my dd who is 2. It tastes disgusting and makes her gag. Anyone have any good ideas to help it go down? She's not quite old enough to understand the have a drink or bribery options yet Confused

My 4 year old DS had ranitidine twice a day recently. He hated it. Copious amounts of blackmail didn't work particularly well but had moderate success with smearing chocolate spread over syringe with reward stickers.

I'll try chocolate spread. It is really bitter. You think they'd try to make it taste nice. Did it take very long to work. My dd has a couple of doses now but is still being sick Sad

Sorry not able to help on whether it works or how long it takes to work for reflux. DS is taking it for different reasons to your DD. He takes it as he is on long term meds which may be irritating his tummy lining.

As far as I know it works fairly quickly. But it is grim, DS was on it twice a day and hated it. Must admit glad when he stopped taking it as his behaviour around taking it was awful (not surprising being forced to take something he hated and not being able to explain why properly). The only thing that had any success was the covering the syringe in a choc spread.

Hope it works for you too x
