Worrying myself sick

My daughter is 4y 8m. About three months ago I noticed a lump on the side of her neck. GP referred for a scan and both the ultrasound tech and the GP agreed just a lymph node, nothing sinister.
However, she has had a lingering cough/wheeze for a good few weeks now. Took her to GP and she commented that her tonsils were "huge." Prescribed penicillin which she has been on for a week and doesn't appear to have helped with wheeze.
Have googled symptoms expecting asthma as strong family history of it and it has come up with lymphoma 🙁 I'm worried sick now.
She is very well in herself, full of energy. Just don't know what to think now.

It's far more likely that she's got a lymph node up in her neck because her tonsils are chronically inflamed. In some kids with wheeze/asthma, troublesome tonsils are great at making them wheeze.

Try not to freak yourself out googling diagnoses - if you feel that she is not better take her back to the GP. Small children have very tiny airways that are often affected by mucous and/or swollen tonsils.

The most likely thing is that she has had an infection/virus such as tonsillitis affecting her tonsils and causing her lymph glands to swell and that she is left with the residual cough and swollen glands, this can go on for several weeks. It's a very good sign that she has plenty of energy

I would go back to the doc but wouldn't be too worried. It's usually one swollen tonsil that is a lymphoma symptom. When my ds had this and we saw an ENT, he said that if my ds had lymphoma that would not be the first symptom - he would be very unwell.
