Toddler Chipped Tooth - Any Action? Agony BFing. Calling Dentists!

DD (2) chipped one of her top incisors yesterday. Sad

I took her straight to the dentist who said it was only a tiny bit wobbly, but to go back in two weeks for a checkup, and to only give her soft foods til then.
I'm BFing her and the jagged edges are really hurting me. I'm very sore and getting more sore. I do not wish to stop BFing yet. She certainly doesn't.
I'd like to know if I can hope they will become less jagged on their own, and if so, when? And if not, if there is anything a dentist would do (file?).
Any other words of wisdom?
I'm really gutted about her poor little tooth. Sad
DD seem fine, thank goodness.
Thanks.

Sorry, absolutely no way we would hold them down. Putting a filling on it involves cleaning the surface with a drill, applying a gel, washing it off, then setting a glue with a light, then setting the filling as well. Not possible on a non cooperative toddler.
I'm with Sandwich try a nail file just to smooth it off. It will self smooth with eating over time but that won't help with the BF. The nail file is probably more achievable than your dentist trying to get her to accept the tooth being smoothed by them.

Just to add that it needs to be a paper emery board nail file not a steel nail file.

Thanks, MMM, I assumed not, just was feeling a bit desperate with the nipple agony. It's still sore for me but I think my nipple is toughening up/getting used to it, and it's tolerable until she bites/stretches, but I'm feeling more hopeful we can carry on now, without the dentist doing anything - which is good as I don't see how DD would cooperate for a moment.

Thanks, Usernom!
