DS in pain 'down there'

My 4 year old DS started having a pain last night. It comes and goes but has happened three times now. All of a sudden he will start crying and seem to be in extreme pain somewhere 'down there', he can't show me specifically where it hurts. This lasts about two minutes and then he is back to normal again in no pain. I've tried looking on the nhs website but can't find anything like it. I don't think it's a urine infection as he isn't in pain all of the time or when he does a wee. Has anyone experienced anything like this?

Please be aware of this www.netdoctor.co.uk/conditions/sexual-health/a11994/testicular-torsion/
My son ended up losing a testicle, but early treatment can save it.
Probably isn't but I am always on a mission to educate mums of boys!

Also the pain does come and go, personally I would get him checked today.

I'd take him to the doctors for a thorough check up asap. I thought of testicular torsion too.Or UTI.

I think you should book an appointment at the doctors as it does sound quiet worrying.

Go to the doctor soon, my DS and my DH both ended up with torsion, DS was sorted without any loss, unfortunately DH wasn't so lucky.

Unless you can get an emergency gp appointment take him to a&e

Same as above, my DS had a similar pain, went to the gp at 11am and at 3pm he was in theatre having an op for torsion. Not life threatening but there's a need to act quickly just in case, in order to be able to save the testicle.

They found out that it wasn't the whole ball, just an appendix to the testicles that had twisted in my son's case and he was absolutely fine but best to get checked out, x.
