Tissue in bum

My son is 7 years old, for a while now he has been putting tissue in his bum after he has a poo. He won't tell me why he does it. I find s*tty tissue in or under his bed and it's discusting and it's pssing me off. I've told him to stop doing it but he continues to do it. Anyone elses child do this?

Does he need worming maybe, itchy bum?

I thought he had worms at first, but there have been no worms in his stool and he been itching or complained it's itchy.
