My 11 yr old daughter is recovering from a nasty burst appendix which was removed 3 weeks ago. She spent 2 weeks in hospital as her bowels went on strike after having to be washed out from the infection. Since coming home she complains daily of pains in stomach, mainly on the opposite side to her appendix, that come and go. I have taken her back to the ward once and to A&E and they have run some tests and said they think it's colic pain where she is a bit bunged up and her bowels are still getting up and running. An x-ray showed a lot of congestion and gas and she does get bloated from time to time. They prescribed her a course of laxatives - although she was passing stools daily.
I am satisfied that this is the cause of the pain but I wondered if anyone else has had a similar experience?
