My daughter will be 3 soon and she still isn't saying a lot - she's getting better with single words but it tends to be when prompted.
We are under ENT for her ears (which so far haven't been cause for concern) and she's also seeing a speech therapist.
However her tonsils are huge! They very nearly touch at the back, she has had tonsillitis twice so I know what to look out for, these are normal size tonsils (well normal for her). She also breaths very heavy/snores at night.
I have been reading that large tonsils can affect speech also and just wanted to see if anyone had any experience of this before I go back to the doctor and mention it!
