Vomiting after antibiotics

I posted a couple of days ago about 7yo DD and her bad tongue laceration - she fell and bit all through her tongue.

Doctor at A&E prescribed co-amoxiclav antibiotics to prevent any infection. She was ok with the first dose or two but has now started vomiting soon after taking it. Unfortunately, she has refused to eat anything since the accident as her tongue is swollen so she is just throwing up any liquid she has drunk. I'm worried she will become dehydrated.

I managed to speak to the GP but they suggested she keep taking it as the only alternative medication seems to be metronidazole, which also has bad side effects.

I'm not sure what's worse, to not give her antibiotics at all or to continue with something that she's just throwing up. She also hates it, especially as she knows it makes her sick, so it's very hard to get her to take any. I'll call the GP first thing tomorrow morning but now I will spend all night worrying.

Sorry, I haven't actually managed to ask my question. Would you continue with the antibiotics or not? Does anyone know any other alternatives?

Has she vomited because of swollen tongue or antibiotics. If you're not sure then phone 111 for advice.
My boy had Coamiclav at 18 months old & 20 months old and he had no side effects.
My daughter had Penicillin V last week and had and had a sore tummy and then diarrhoea after 1st couple of doses but was ok after that.
I would follow medical advice as not taking the antibiotics may be worse than her being sick.
Hope she's ok

Thanks. I thought it was the tongue the first time but now it definitely seems to be the meds, although apparently diahorrea is more common. She's always been a bit prone to vomiting. She only talk half of it tonight (I discovered she had managed to dribble the rest into the bin, on purpose) and still vomited profusely.
