Hand foot & mouth AND holiday!!!!!

Hi

I have three kids 7,4 & 18mths. We're due to go on holiday on the 18th of this month. Anyway I've been ill for a few days and yesterday I woke up with hand food & mouth rash all over my hands and feet. I went to the doctors to get it confirmed.

What shall I do about the holiday now? I'm sooo worried about it! The kids are bound to get it. I don't even think it's worth packing and putting all the effort into sorting stuff, but hubby says that they might not even get it. It's soooo contagious...of course they will!

It's ridiculous...I'm the adult catching it and bringing it home... normally it's the kids passing on stuff like this. I've been extremely stressed about unrelated things and I'm in so desperate need for a break, so are the kids. They're going to be devastated if the trip is cancelled.

I got ill on sunday, so this is my 5th day. The incubation period is 3-6 days right? When will I know the kids r clear...? For all I know they haven't even picked it up from me yet, but might tomorrow...or am I over thinking it?

Positive opinions please, don't think I can take much more!

There isn't an exclusion period for hand foot and mouth

Sorry do you mean exclusion period regarding travelling and taking the children away? If so I can't (& don't want to) take them away with a high fever and covered in blisters on the thier hands and feet. I know how rubbish I feel and all I want are my home comforts & I'm an adult. I just wanted to know if they've not shown any signs by a certain amount of days is it less likely they'll get it? Have any other adults had it and not passed it on to thier kids?

It's more for school/work so it depends if they get it and if they are unwell with it. It can be worse in adults compared to children
