Lumps and bumps

Hi,

I have health anxiety so I am just looking for reassurance if possible please.

My dd has a little lump on the back of her head which different gps have all said is either just part of her head or a small gland. All reassured me that there is absolutely nothing to worry about whatsoever - even giving me "100 percent certain".

Also, she has two little bumps either side of her belly/hips, Iike muscle. However, one side feels bigger/more lumpy than the other like a bump. Again, gp has confirmed that this is just part of her normal anatomy and that no one Ian symmetrical.

But I can't help but freak out when anything seemingly abnormal pops up in terms of bumps and lumps etc.

Do any of your children have anything like this or similar?

Thanks

Yes! Dd is older now, but I was exactly the same when she was younger. I also have HA and struggled to stop the thoughts running away with me. Every time I saw or felt something I hadn't noticed before my mind turned it into a potential life threatening illness instantly. It was awful and I really feel for you. Your dd is fine, honestly she is. Your GP has confirmed it. But reassurance is also a vicious circle, the more you have the more you need, it's a symptom of the HA. Eventually I saw the GP about myself, had medication and cbt and got it all under control. You've no idea of the relief when you can finally relax a bit and enjoy your child. It's definitely worth talking it through. Feel better x
