Private sleep study?

Dd is 7. Always lots of upper respitory infections and has now seen ENT specialist that says her tonsils are grade 3 and may need both adenoids and tonsils but will review in a couple of months. She is a poor sleeper and asked about having a sleep study but was told not necessary. But it would help enormously for me to know whether she has apnea- she doesn't snore etc so difficult to know. Has anyone had a private sleep study done?

Does she pause or have a break in her breathing for a few seconds before taking a big breath?

Yes she does

Don't really know about private sleep study but I do know that when my DS was on home oxygen the only working SATs monitor that recorded for a sleep study was shared by CCN, NICU and ENT for the area so waiting list to get a study booked in was complicated. The response you got may sadly have more to do with resources than anything else.

I would keep pushing if I felt it was needed and repeat a description of her symptoms to every HCP I met.
