My 8 and a half month old woke up at 5am with a temperature of 39, I gave him some nurofen and we both fell back to sleep for a couple of hours. I gave him some more mid morning and he's been fine, however since about 2pm it's gone up again and went up to 39 degrees. I gave him some more medicine and it's now around 37.7.

The doctors has no more appointments today, he seems fine in himself but a bit whiny. I'm concerned as I'm reaching the medicine limit within 24 hours and wondering what I should do now?

He feels hot to touch but as he's ok in himself and still playing etc I'm not sure whether to worry?

Have you tried calpol as well as nurofen? Is he drinking and having wet nappies?

alternate Calpol and Nurofen....give Nurofen before bed at night as the antipyretic effects last longer then Calpol.

Thanks for your replies, he prefers the taste of nurofen but will pop and get some calpul to alternate.
