CONSTANTLY clearing his throat

DS2 (7) is constantly clearing his throat, and I mean every breath at the moment. A) this can't be good for him, and b) it's driving us all spare! Any suggestions before I bother the GP?

Reflux?

Floralnomad · 15/06/2017 21:36

My dh used to do this , it was due to nasal drip leading to catarrh in the throat , very annoying . You can get nasal sprays for it which help but what seems to have cured dh is the Fellowes Aeramax air purifier thing that I was kindly given as a product test by Mumsnet . We have that on overnight and it's worked wonders.

My ds(6) went through a phase of doing this. It did follow a cold but I honestly thought it was just habit.

He has had other little habits too, and I'd say the threat clearning lasted about 2/3 months.

Thank you all. I'm pretty sure it's not reflux, but have wondered if it was simply a habit. It has been going on for a while but was much worse yesterday. Might see what I can find for nasal drips.

Hayfever? I feel like that if I don't take an antihistamine and nasal spray.
