Chicken pox - Spots on bum not scabbing

Dd started getting spots last Wednesday- they've all dried up and scabbed and initially the ones on her bum had scabbed over but this morning while changing her nappy I noticed she'd been scratching them and they looked a bit red again and there were no scabs.

Dr has already confirmed she's not contagious and everywhere else spots are healing so I suspect it's just because of where these spots are and the fact that the air can't get to them plus the can get wet from the urine in her nappy.

Any tips on how to help them clear? Going to try and keep her nappy off over the weekend but she's back at nursery now so that's not always possible.

Been covering her in vira soothe - anything else I can do? Really want to avoid them becoming infected!

I'd use calamine lotion to dry them out, rather than virssoothe.
DS 7 was hospitalised for 2 weeks with Chicken Pox and found that calamine was the best for the nappy area...

Thanks - we've got calomine lotion and cream - hadn't been using the lotion so much because it's so messy but I can cover her in that tonight

Had the same problem with DS. Nappy free time before and after nursery helped, also a bit of Sudocreme . It will go away, not to worry.

Thanks jellymum - gave her a bath in some bicarbonate of soda then some nappy free time then covered in nappy cream- didn't have sudocreme so just used Aldis own brand which I think is pretty much the same thing.
