My son who is 6 first showed symptoms of tics 2 years ago. It began as a throat clearing sound/ grunting and lasted about 3 month then went away. It came back about 6 month after it cleared for about 8 weeks then again went away. This time around it's back as an obsessive blinking and squeezing his eyes shut and I'm so devastated for him. When we didn't know what it was when it began (the throat clearing) everyone mentioned it to him. His teacher called me in and told me if he didn't get rid of his bad chest she was reporting me. I had been to the doctors numerous times getting it checked out thinking it was that so I am worried that people will constantly call him out on why he's blinking so much. He doesn't realise he's doing it so I don't make a big deal of it. Another thing the doctor has told me is it could develop into Tourettes syndrome. Just any advice at all on children who have had it and if anything helped or any ways of settling it. Tia
