Hi not posted before. My little boy is 18 months old n just been diagnosed with his 4th ear infection since end of February. His brother suffered with them too but no where near as bad this young! Mentioned it to nurse practitioner he saw this morning n feel like my concerns were brushed off

Ask to be referred to ent. Ask if he can have a hearing test. Could be sign of glue ear!! My daughter's had this fortunately they do tend to grow out of it by around 9/10. Definitely speak to your doctor.

You may well find that the threshold for referral to ENT is way above that, I think it's more like 6-7 infections in 3 months in some areas.

Ds was referred at 15 months due to having ear infections every 10-14 days since he was 10 weeks old. He continued having them until he had grommets in (and then had 8 burst ear drums in 2 months and had them back in!).

Unless you feel it's effecting his development, in particular his speech, I don't think they'll be keen to refer at this point.

It may be that it isn't clearing thoroughly, and it can be worth taking them back 10 days later to be checked as sometimes if the antibiotics doesn't clear it then a double dose is needed.
