Sugar free squash for toddlers

My daughter didn't drink any non-milk liquids until 18 months. Sometimes she'd even get a headache from being dehydrated

So I introduced very diluted squash (with sugar) which helped massively, and now give her sugar free squash as I figured it was better got her teeth

She doesn't like water and won't drink it at all. I was the same as a child (and still don't like plain water!)

Is this really bad or is a teaspoon of sugar free squash per Beaker ok?!

I had a child who would not drink enough water, their wee was stinky and I was sure they were constantly dehydrated.

I started giving squash and watered down fruit juice. Now they are at the age of reason they are mostly given water and I just tell them to drink it.

I would always think sugar free squash should be avoided though, I would rather give sugar than sugar substitutes. Just clean their teeth more often?
