DD has been ill since last Thurs, high temp, headache, off her food. Also noticed swollen tonsils yesterday so thought tonsillitis, but now this morning she has spots on her face. Could it be chicken pox?

Hard to tell, because chicken pox spots turn into obvious blisters (my DC2 has chicken pox right now so I'm experienced Wink).

Are the spots just around her mouth? Could be hand foot and mouth, too.

Has she got any in her body? Chicken pox tends to start on the trunk area. Could be hand foot and mouth

It's just on her face right now. I keep checking her all over but nothing else yet. My other DD has had hand foot mouth in the past and this looks nothing like that did.

It could be. You would soon realise if it was the pox. They start to blister and more and more appear.

My son had them a little while ago. After his bath, I noticed a few red spots in his back but no blisters st the time. He went to bed shortly afterwards and woke up the next morning with loads more spots and they had started to blister.
