Has anyone's child had this? We have been referred to the hip clinic by our GP.

My DD is 1 and from my internet searches it would seem that at this age surgery is likely. All quite worrying!!

My daughter was diagnosed at 3 1/2. She had a femoral osteotomy and acetabuloplasty in surgery and a spica cast for 8 weeks. She's now 5 and participating in basketball, swimming and other sports and is generally very active. There are some very active and extremely useful Facebook groups that I highly recommend. You are right though, surgery is very likely to be in her future with a relatively late diagnosis but they will try to do the minimum they can to fix the issue so won't jump to surgery unless they have to.

Good luck!
