Could this be chicken pox? (Pics)

Back in November last year my DD had very mild cp with only 3 spots behind her ear that was confirmed by a nurse at OOH.
Now there have been several cases at her nursery and the last few days she has been very sleepy, snotty, spiking temps and no appetite at all.
I kept her off from nursery this morning as she still seems a bit under the weather but she has a few spots on her face that look a little poxy to me. Could she have it again?
I don't want to tell nursery until I'm sure in case they think I'm lying unless I send some pics to them?

Well time will tell but I think they look more like midge bites than chicken pox at the moment. CP normally appears on the trunk first too. It is possible to get it twice though.

BurntBum · 22/05/2017 11:11

Why are you worried about what nursery think?

VioletBow · 22/05/2017 11:23

She won't stay still long enough for a clear picture but they look like they have fluid in rather than just raised bumps.
I'm a worrier when it comes to things like keeping her off nursery, I don't know why I just don't want them thinking I'm not sending her in for no reason if that makes sense?

She can get it again if she only had it mildly previously. I am in exactly the same situation today. My 3 year old DS had it before so when his older brother started with chickenpox 2 weeks ago I thought he wouldn't get it. The spots started at the weekend and are all over now so no pre- school for a week for him. Had it confirmed at a clinic this morning.

VioletBow · 22/05/2017 11:37

I've never had it and according to the occupational health at my local hospital when I worked there I'm immune Confused
And I've never really been around kids with it so I'm clueless tbh.
I'm off to see my aunt shortly who has 4 older children all of which have had it so she's going to have a look for me.
I just don't want nursery to think I'm jumping on the bandwagon with keeping her off 🙈

That looks like urticaria/allergy to something. Not chicken pox!

MusicToMyEars800 · 22/05/2017 11:55

Her arm looks like a reaction to something, have you tried piriton? give her a dose and see if it goes down. Chikcen pox do normally start off as fluid filled spots, which then pop and eventually scab, but I've never seen pox look like that.

VioletBow · 22/05/2017 12:14

Yeah just given piriton, it's on her other arm too but a smaller patch. She hasn't touched anything or eaten anything she doesn't usually. She does pick up any bug that's going around so maybe it's all just viral and coincidental it's happening around the time the nursery has cases of cp
She is getting annoyed with me poking and prodding her so will leave her for a while then check her all over to see if she has any spots anywhere other than her face

I reckon it's a reaction to something, I have a friend who's dd gets reactions to all sorts of things, and they look a lot like your dds.

SleepFreeZone · 22/05/2017 14:12

We have exactly the same thing going on here!!

And DP has been coming up with the urticaria lumps. I have no idea what's going on.

VioletBow · 22/05/2017 14:23

She is absolutely fine in her self. Bit tired but still playing and being a mischief. The heat type rash had almost gone just a small red lump there now. I'm thinking maybe she had picked up a virus that's causing the loss of appetite and tiredness ect and just coincidental it's happened the same time as cp has hit nursery

My daughter also has one of these on her chest, which I noticed this evening after her bath. It wasn't there this morning but she has been playing out the garden and in a play centre today which was very hot and sweaty :/
