7 year old snoring

We've noticed dd snoring quite a lot recently. She's always done it off and on but now it's most nights.
She doesn't seem to have her mouth open-it's all nose!
She's often quite tired and grumpy in the day and I'm wondering if it's because of the snoring and if I should take her to gp? Will they laugh at us?!

They might laugh at you if the only symptom is she snores and sometimes she's tired/grumpy!

Does she have a cold or allergies that are making her snuffly? It's hayfever season so the general level of snoring has gone up here too. You could try giving her an anti-histamine for a few nights to see if that makes a difference or change her pillow to an allergy friendly one.

Is she really unusually tired and grumpy? Or just tired and grumpy like all 7 year olds in the world are sometimes? Maybe try an earlier bedtime if she's tired all day and see if that makes a difference.

How does she sleep? Back/front/side? Does it improve if you move her? Does she need more/fewer pillows?

Have you tried a bit of vicks on her chest maybe?

If you try all of that and nothing stops the snoring and she is really unusually tired then go and see your GP. Try and solve it at home first though. Obviously, if she suddenly develops other worrying symptoms, see a doctor.
