Google laryngomalacia - maybe your dd has it?

My DS had this. Was caused by silent reflux.

Reflux I would guess at?

Sammy592 · 05/05/2017 22:04

I have been thinking reflux . The only thing is she isn't a sicky baby ? Can they have reflux with no vomiting? She's only been sick once or twice. The other thing laryngomalacia il ask my doctor when we go for the check up will they look at that?

Silent reflux means they aren't sick but tend to cry a lot and not like lying flat

Yes dr could listen to her breathing re the floppy larynx (larygnomalacia) but it's often heard only when crying or feeding in the younger months. It's quite a distinctive noise so if you google videos of it and listen you could probably tell yourself whether it's a possibility or not.

Def ask your dr about all this at 6 week check anyway

Thanks I'll do that. A video is a good idea. Definitely asking the doctor because it does sound like silent reflux m

My DS didn't even cry a lot with it at this age tbh, he just had quite severe symptoms like losing his voice. Poor thing was on medication for 2 years. He turned out to have allergies in the end.

Is the baby breathing normally? Hoarseness was one of the first indications of dd's bronchiolitis, which is related to the common cold virus.

Sammy592 · 06/05/2017 08:15

Breathing seems ok just sounds stuffy sometimes when feeding.

I have thought about allergies as I have a slight dairy intolerance I get stomach caps and in some cases eczema. I was OK throughout pregnancy with it but now it's slowly coming back. I have switch to almond milk just to check how she goes.

DS is allergic to cows milk, soy and eggs. He was also stuffy at this age and quite mucousy. He had other symptoms though all tummy/digestion related.

Keep an eye out as she's more likely to ha e issues if you do.
