His diarrhoea won't go

My son is 9 and started with diarrhoea on Tuesday morning, he was sick Tues evening but just the once. It has been every morning (apart from Fri). He has been eating bland dry foods. I took him to the doctor on Thursday who just said it should go on its own. Is there anything I can do to get rid of this because he's so fed up and has missed quite a bit of school now?

I hope your son is feeling a bit better this evening. Recently my children caught the bug. My son had sickness but no diarrhoea. My daughter had mild sickness one day then diarrhoea for a week! In that week she was miserable, off her food etc. So it can linger for a while.

Bland foods will help. Maybe try some rehydration salts.
