Groin pain in DD 6 - Perthes??

A month ago DD developed a hot swollen knee for no reason.Dr thought she had probably hurt herself without realising. He advised elevation and cold compress which did the trick.

Last week she developed groin pain which made her limp. Again no apparent injury although she had been scootering/at the park all day. She was ok to play outside and run/jump etc but it was making her limp. Went to Dr who was concerned about Perthes. Got an xray the next day which came back normal (although Dr said Perthes doesn't always show on xrays at first). He advised ibuprofen for next few days and said as long as it wasn't hurting she could continue normal activity. Said to come back if it doesn't get better.

It got better so we stopped meds after 5 days. Today she swung her leg up to do a shoe up and it immediately hurt again like she'd pulled it or something.

So I'm thinking the original problem was a pulled/strained groin which made the area a bit weak and now she's pulled it again. But the paranoid side of me is still worried it could be Perthes disease - especially because of the weird swollen knee incident a few weeks back (could've been referred pain??)

Anybody have any similar experiences and can maybe reassure please? ?
