Anyone else up with poorly child?

My 4 and a half month old DS has a fever and has trouble sleeping. Poor baby is boiling hot, has stuffy nose, looks so miserable.

Thankfully doctor thinks it's only a virus and will pass but it's the first time he has been ill so it really stresses me out, he's so tiny. I need some encouragement!

Bless you! It's natural for a mum to worry for their child. Keep an eye on him and dose with half a spoon or baby Calpol to keep his temperature down.

@highinthesky thank you! Yes he just took some so waiting for it to work. I suspect after few years (and illnesses) I will be much less stressed about it but for now... no sleep for either of us!

My 4 month old is all snuffly but no fever yet touch wood she's just so so clingy and is perfectly happy sleeping in my arms hope your little one feels better soon!

Been with DS since he woke at 9:30 having slept off 3 lots of rescue meds for seizures. We are on the open ward so he could be observed and he is in sensory meltdown... if o was at home I'd be waking DH right now to take over!!!!

We're having post jab blues here. He's also very unhappy about the milk that just came out of his nose. Not pleasant for the poor mite at 5am

@Occadodo @DoubleCarrick I hope your LOs feel better! I woke up DH indeed and he took over for a couple of hours. Just woke up though to feed DS. He was better for a while and thankfully slept too.

Glad DS is better and slept a bit. Invest in some saline nasal drops to clear the snuffle whilst he feeds, it makes a real difference!

If it's any consolation your not alone. I've just had to retrieve a load of snot from DD's nose. At 2 she knows the tissue is coming her way and scrunches her eyes up but let's me do it, she looks so funny! Horrible rattling chest though, and dermatitis round her mouth which has calmed down with WSP. Just par for the course with LOs

I will try to clear his nose with saline s, I think it would help him lots with feeding. I also ordered this thing off the internet which helps suck out snot (friend recommended) The whole thing sounds absolutely disgusting  but hey, will try anything that might help.

Oh I have a snot sucker! It's absolutely brilliant I got the snufflebabe one from boots, it's got a filter so nothing goes anywhere near you which I was relieved to find out the calpol vapour plug in is good too!

Gotta investigate the snot sucker!
