What On earth is this? Vomiting returning

Dd is 6 and suddenly started to be ill Monday evening, vomiting all night. Stomach and chest pain and a slight temperature. Yesterday she seemed almost better. This morning she is worse, vomiting bile, can't keep water down and very pale looking. Can't speak to a doctor until later so just wondering if anyone else knows what it might be?

DD had a bug once where she was fine during the day, and sick about midnight for four nights in a row; every time I thought she was fine she wasn't!

Ergh how horrible! One night is bad enough but four in a row.. exhausting.
I wonder why it's always at night when sickness happens.

I don't know, but it's the worst!

She's still bringing up everything but the doctor has said as long as she tries to drink, then at least some of it will get absorbed. He wants to see her but I can't get her there so I'm just going to keep her drinking whatever she can until I can get her there tomorrow. I hate not being able to drive at times like this!

That sounds sensible - teeny tiny sips should (hopefully) stay in, every 10 minutes or so. Fingers crossed by this time tomorrow she'll be much brighter.

Get some dioralyte if you can from the pharmacy, as that will help rehydrate her. Ice lollies are good if she can't drink.

I tried a lolly and she brought it all up again. She will only drink milk today. Probably not the best thing but she has kept it down thank goodness. She's slept all day apart from five minutes here and there where she cries because of the nausea but she's not confused or anything. This is by far the worst bug she's had. Hopefully dh can get her to the doctor in the car in the morning. I'm concerned it's been a week now.

Two of my kids had the same pattern a few weeks ago. It kept coming and going and DD was off school for a week in the end.

I know several other families who've had similar bugs. It's a nightmare and generates a lot of washing!

It's awful for them but it's good to know it's sounding like a bug, I worry so much imagining all sorts of things! Did you catch it? I'm just waiting for it to hit someone else in the house.

DS (3) had this a couple of weeks ago. Was sick for 5 days!
He lost weight and it really knocked him for six.
He seems to get every bug going at the moment, still isn't 100% 🙁

Oh no your poor ds. Did he have a temperature too? Dd has just started this evening to also get a temp. She's still sleeping. I just know I'll be up all night checking her and worrying.

Yes, I got it too. With me, I was only sick once, but then had the worst diarrhoea I've ever had for the next 8 hours. It was awful. But the sickness didn't come and go for me, just the kids.

Realitea am I right in thinking that the temperature has come back? Did she have any days without a temperature?

I think the temperature was just yesterday. Today she was up and about, almost hyperactive, talking a lot very quickly but also eating and drinking which was a relief. Many times throughout the day she said she felt sick and she's definitely got some stomach acid problems. She saw the GP who wasn't too worried and ruled out a water infection.
Dd nearly gave me a panic attack when we left to go to the doctors, she said 'argh the light hurts my eyes' but then said it's because she had looked directly at the sun.
She's asleep now and I really hope tomorrow she'll be feeling better
