11 year old being sent home from school

My daughter (11 and a half) has been sent home from school ill three times in the past month. This is very unusual for her, she is robust and healthy and knows that I do not keep children off school unless they are dying. (Slight exaggeration, but we don't do malingering and feeling sorry for yourself in this house).

She's complaining of a headache, sore tummy and is off her food. Can't stand noisy environments. I've asked if she's drinking enough (she says she is), and it's at the back of my mind that this might be her periods starting, but there's no other signs and it's only been 2 weeks since she was sent home last time. She's lying in her bed in the dark, no telly, no phone which is unheard of so she must be ill.
