Toddler's urine smells like hair dye - is this 'ammonia'?

Probably a daft question but my 2.3-year-old woke up drenched in wee this morning and it smelled like when I get my highlights done - presumably this is hydrogen peroxide. Lots of google results for 'urine smelling like ammonia' - is this the same smell?

If so then could be dehydration (although doubtful if he wee'd so much and has been drinking fine) or bladder infection...

DH put him in the eco-nappies we use during the day rather than a more absorbent one we use at night but even so he was soaking :(

Urine is normally more concentrated overnight as it sits in the bladder for longer than during the day so I wouldn't overly worry about the ammonia smell

Thanks - so is that what 'ammonia smell' actually is? I.e. like hair dye?

His temperature was fine so not too worried.

Ammonia is not the same as hydrogen peroxide but may smell similar
