More than just teething?

For the past 2 weeks dd has been having between 5-7 dirty nappies a day, when she used to generally have between 1-2.

I have been putting it down to teething (no teeth yet), but now I'm not so sure.

They are often very loose, and yesterday she had 7 loose dirty nappies. So far today she has already had 2. She seems fine in herself, is drinking milk, but is sometimes fussing with her food when previously would eat anything and everything.

Is this just teething, or do you think perhaps something else? We haven't seen our hv since dd was 6 weeks old (don't even have her phone number), but is it worth calling the office to try to get hold of her? I don't really want to waste a doctor's time. Or am I just being a bit silly?

Also I've not been sure if perhaps we are giving her too much fruit/veg, as she does have quite a lot?

If you're worried you're not wasting anyone's time give the HV a buzz I suggest or a gp appointment on mon.
How old is she? Sorry she's poorly. I don't really have answers or suggestions but just a hug.
Make sure she's getting lots of liquid so she's not dehydrated.

It's difficult to say - it could be teet, it could be the fruit but if you're worried just get it checked out for peace of mind.

Sorry I forgot to say, she's 9 months old. I am trying my best to keep her hydrated, but unfortunately she just likes to spit out water (does the same with watered down juice) and laugh!

Maybe it is worth getting her checked out.

How is your DD now enchantment?

My DS is 8 months old and has been the same for the last week - no temperature, eating and drinking generally ok, seems fine and happy in himself but has gone from one poo a day to going 7-8 times and his poor bum almost looks burnt

He has 2 extra teeth this week so maybe its just teething but he wasn't like this when his others came through!

This happened to mine too at a similar age and he had 4 teeth cutting at once! Nappies, bit picky with food...I can tell when his teeth are bothering him as to when he gets a bit fussy with foods he previously liked. The gross nappies lasted for over 2 weeks I'm sorry to say and his bum was so sore. But all fine once they'd cut through so may well be that.
