6 year old - 3 week old cough !!!

Hi

My 6 year old son has had this cough for 3 weeks now and cant shift it at all !!

Night time and morning are worse - coughing all night; no sleep; cough so hard that he vomits. The days are a bit better but had spouts of coughing.

I have been to the doctor twice now - no infection or any other issues and just been asked to ride it out.

Now its getting fairly frustrating for all of us !!! Tried OTC medicine, steaming him, vicks and other things

Any tips of advice you may have ? Anyone else been in same situation?

Just wanted to bump this. I have also noticed that his cough is really bad when he goes swimming. Literally he got in the pool today and just coughed for the full half hour!!
