Chicken Pox?

My child saw their friend thirteen days ago. Three days later her friend came down with CP. On Tuesday evening, my child developed a fever, cold and cough and was really ill on Wednesday too. They are still warm and have a runny nose now. Could it be chicken pox and the spots haven't come out yet?

It could be but you won't know until the spots come out. Although it's normally only contagious for 1-2 days before spots appear so could be unrelated

Friend's dd had something similar a few months ago. Generally a bit feverish and then spots visible about 1 day later. Generally sounds pretty plausible. Fingers crossed it is just a bug though.
