Recurrent fever in 14 month old - see GP?

DD2 came down with a nasty cough & cold two weeks ago with a high temperature of over 38 degrees Celcius, which lasted for 5 days. She was finally fever-free last Tuesday so went back to nursery on Wednesday and had been fine since. However, today she's again got a temperature of up to 40 degrees and has been sent home. I'm wondering if it's worth taking her to the GPs tomorrow if she's still got a fever to rule out ear/chest infection etc?

With a temperature that high please consider them seeing her today unless she has really perked up and improved a lot. That high is a red flag sign at that age.

I would. My ds is a bit older but spent 6 weeks with a temp on or off. We saw a nurse who was worried and ordered tests and a doc who made me feel like I was wasting his time as small children get back to back infections at this time of the year. But it's worth being safe when they're little.

beautiful she did perk up this afternoon and was happily playing and eating her tea, though by bedtime she suddenly crashed and her temp was up to 39 again... given her some Nurofen and hoping she'll have a good night's sleep!

Saw the GP and she diagnosed bad infection in both ears and gave us some antibiotics. Glad I went!

Glad you got her seen. Ear infections are rubbish. Poor poppet.
